Rev. Scott Turnbrook

Our Pastor, Rev. Scott Turnbrook was called to Deer Lake in 2003 following his ministry in Prince George at Knox United Church. Scott received his theological training (M.Div.) from the Vancouver School of Theology and his Undergraduate training in psychology at Simon Fraser University. Apart from serving the local parish Scott, has served as a director on the BC Council for Families, as chair for the Stewardship Committee for the BC Conference of the United Church of Canada, and on committees with the Emerging Spirit/ Wondercafe.ca initiative. Prior to entering ministry, Scott worked in the area of marketing for 10 years. Together with his partner Jennifer, they are blessed with two children. Scott’s other love, besides church and family, is playing hockey.

Wendy

Wendy, our church secretary, came to Deer Lake United in April 2005. Her previous position was with The Salvation Army as secretary to the Corps Officers at Southmount Citadel in Vancouver. Wendy does volunteer work for Marguerite Dixon Transition House, a transition house for abused women and their children. She helps to sort donations of clothing and household necessities provided for the residents of Dixon House and the second-stage program for ex-residents. Wendy has a son and daughter and is the proud grandmother of 3 wonderful granddaughters.
